Spoiler Alert - I thought this place was brilliant…

Halfway down Kintyre, there's a 9 hole course often overlooked by those heading onwards to Machrihanish...

Mach Dunes gets some mixed reviews. This was a relative 'big name' for Kintyre that I was excited to experience first hand.

So begins a run of truly quirky - and truly delightful - holes. Successive par 3s take you to out to the par 4 9th tee, where the quirkiness steps up another level.

The 12 holes are consistent in quality, equally interesting and all enormous fun. Not a weak hole among them, and there aren't many places you can say that.
