Gᴀʀᴍᴏᴜᴛʜ & Kɪɴɢsᴛᴏɴ GC
On the mouth of the River Spey lies Garmouth and Kingston GC.
Sadly, this was one I didn’t manage to play. G&K is mainly a parkland course, but has enough links style holes to make my list. However, it’s easier said than done. G&K seems to spend an increasing amount of time under water.
The River Spey breaks its banks with increasing regularity, often submerging the entire course. A few years ago, the club raised £90k for clubhouse refurbishment - but spent it instead of flood defences. They lasted for 6 weeks.
While I was there, the neighbouring courses were about as dry as one would expect. G&K, however, was largely under water.
I’ll be back up that way in the Spring, and will hopefully be able to play then.
