It might not have been a links, but my word it was in a beautiful spot.

Tarbert itself is a lovely port many drive through on their way down Kintyre. Just off the main road is a little 9 holer. Once the green fee was deposited in the shed, we were off...

It was a little damp underfoot. The first few headed in the direction of an ominously steep hill - and the third started to make its way up it… Along a short woodland path, we emerged in a secluded area with an interesting run of holes - and a commanding view

The next two par 4s are the most interesting holes on the course. The first hugs the right hand tree line - favouring a shape of shot I haven't purposely hit for many years. The next made good use of a winding, picturesque stream - only a drive and pitch, but with a fun amount of jeopardy.

From here, we head back through the wood and make our way across and then down the aforementioned hill.

For a fun 9 holer on the way down to Machrihanish, I'd certainly take Carradale in favour of Tarbert. With that said, it was fun, quirky & offered sensational views

and £15.

On Google Maps, Traigh is marked simply as 'Golf Course'. What an enticing start...I found it to be everything I love about golf on the West Coast of Scotland.
